A Dickinson teen who ran away from home earlier this month has been located in Wyoming.
Taylor Swindle, 16, called her mother on Sunday afternoon to tell her she was OK and that she wanted to come home.
“She said, ‘I’m OK mommy. I made a bad mistake. I want to come home,’” said Katie Splichal, Swindle’s mother.
Swindle told her mother she had been in Colorado and Nebraska and was staying with her boyfriend.
Swindle was deemed a runaway juvenile by the Dickinson Police Department on Aug. 2. Investigations initially led authorities to believe Swindle was in the Williston area.

Splichal said it wasn’t until authorities pinged Swindle’s boyfriend’s cellphone that they discovered the two were in the Littleton, Colo., area.
“This has been a nightmare,” Splichal said. “Taylor is very remorseful and sorry.”
Swindle was the third teenage girl from western North Dakota -- and one of two from Dickinson -- to be reported as missing this summer. All three returned home safely.
