Dickinson State University President Tom Mitzel has an inauguration date.
Mitzel’s formal investiture ceremony is scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 23, according to a DSU release, and will coincide with the university’s Family Weekend.
The new president officially began Dec. 21 and is now a little more than three weeks into his first semester at DSU.
By the time he is officially inaugurated, Mitzel will have been in office for about eight months.
DSU public relations coordinator Michelle Wilson said inaugurations are typically done in the fall at the school as a matter of custom and that the timing will have no bearing on Mitzel’s standing.
