BISMARCK(AP) -- The Public Service Commission is finding new sinkholes.

The PSC says some have been found north of Beulah, on a county road southeast of Dickinson and under a road near the Scranton grain elevator.

PSC President Kevin Cramer says the wet spring has led to the development of sinkholes.

The commission awards contracts for work on abandoned coal mines with money from the federal abandoned mine lands program.

Commissioners say a number of construction firms are interested in those projects. One project near Hazen got 10 bids.

Commissioner Brian Kalk says he was surprised by the number of out-of-state bidders. Cramer says that's a change from previous years when the PSC sometimes had trouble finding bidders.
