In celebration of the 14th Annual National Public Lands Day at Theodore Roosevelt National Park's three units, the public will be admitted for free on Saturday.
All National Park Service sites celebrate the day.
The park also will hold special program and volunteer work parties to commemorate the event. Anyone who volunteers receives a free one day pass valid for future use at any NPS site. There is expected to be more than 1,000 volunteer projects going on around the country on Saturday.
"America's public lands showcase the country's spectacular beauty and fascinating history," NPS Director Mary Bomar said in a recent press release. "I encourage everyone to take advantage of this fee free day to explore a national park or lend a hand to help the land."
The other federal agencies not charging for admittance that day include the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Reclamation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Forest Service.
