BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- North Dakota's Supreme Court has suspended a former Devils Lake attorney from practicing law for six months.
The court's suspension order on Monday says Rudolph Tollefson dawdled on handling some cases and lied to clients about their progress.
Tollefson told clients he had filed a bankruptcy petition and paperwork to incorporate a business when he hadn't done either job.
The Supreme Court says Tollefson also represented clients in two criminal cases and a divorce while he was suspended from practicing law. His license had been yanked because he hadn't paid child support.
Tollefson has to pay more than $3,200 in restitution to clients and $250 in disciplinary costs.

Tollefson is already ineligible to practice law, because he didn't renew his law license this year.
