A North Dakota state legislator flipped his car on a snow-covered county road. Larimore Rep. Chris Griffin said he was bruised but not seriously hurt.

Griffin was returning from Bismarck when the accident happened on a Steele County road just after 2 p.m. Friday.

He says the road was covered with snow, and he overcorrected his steering when the car started fishtailing.

Griffin's car skidded, hit a roadside ditch and flipped onto its roof. He crawled out the vehicle's window. Griffin says he was wearing his seat belt.

The wreck happened near Golden Lake in northern Steele County.
