FARGO (AP) -- A man accused of fleeing a Fargo halfway house after he was caught stealing from the facility is facing a federal charge.

Authorities accuse Jason Eagle Horse of walking away from Centre Inc. after he was told that Fargo police would charge him with theft. The incident was allegedly captured by Centre security cameras.

Eagle Horse is charged in federal court with escape. He has not entered a plea.

Court documents show that Eagle Horse left Centre on Jan. 31. His GPS monitor stopped transmitting later that day. He was arrested on Feb. 1 in Fargo.

Eagle Horse was placed at the halfway house in October as part of an 8-year sentence for assault with a dangerous weapon.
