BISMARCK (AP) -- A North Dakota man who served about six months in jail for threatening to kill President Barack Obama is back behind bars for violating terms of his sentence.

Eric Hirchert was released in May and ordered to serve two years of supervised release. Authorities say Hirchert recently quit his job without prior approval from his supervisors. He was later found to be in possession of a homemade weapon.

A hearing for Hirchert is scheduled March 25 in Bismarck.

Authorities say Hirchert told his parents he was going to shoot Obama and posted a statement on his brother's Facebook page that he was going to kill the president.
