JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) -- A Jamestown man accused of pointing a shotgun at police officers faces up to five years in prison after being convicted of terrorizing.
The Jamestown Sun reports that a jury deliberated for about four hours Friday before finding Michael Partlow guilty in the September 2010 incident in which officers fired on a suicidal Partlow and wounded him several times.
The jury also ruled that Partlow did not harm or try to harm the officers, meaning he will not face a mandatory minimum sentence of two years in prison.
Prosecutors alleged during the trial that Partlow was shot when he turned to fire on the officers. Partlow's attorney argued that his client was wounded when he turned to lay down his weapon.
