GRAND FORKS (AP) -- A Larimore man once charged with attempted murder in the choking of a woman has been sentenced to six years in prison on lesser charges.
Twenty-three-year-old Kermit Dumarce pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and terrorizing, as well as three misdemeanor counts of violating a no-contact order.
Authorities accused Dumarce of threatening to kill his children's mother as he choked her until she passed out last November, causing her to vomit blood and seek medical treatment.
