A New Town man is being charged with drinking and driving after being injured in a car crash with a Dickinson man early Wednesday morning, according to a press release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Gordon Blake, 54, of New Town, was reportedly traveling west on Highway 23 about three miles west of New Town in a 2008 Honda when his vehicle crossed over the center line into the eastbound lane, striking the back axle group of the 2001 Peterbilt that Christopher David, 33, was reportedly driving east. David swerved right to avoid Blake's vehicle, according to the release.

Blake was reportedly extracted from his vehicle by the New Town Fire Department and transported to Trinity Hospital in Minot by the New Town Ambulance.

David was not injured, but had $25,000 in damages to his vehicle. Blake's vehicle was totaled.

David declined comment and attempts to reach Blake were unsuccessful Wednesday.
