COLFAX, N.D. - A recall election targeting three members on the Richland 44 School Board is coming up in August, but no one has filed to challenge them.
A committee successfully gathered enough signatures to spark a recall, which was approved by the North Dakota Secretary of State's Office in March. It targets three of seven board members: Sarah Myers, Josh Mjoness and President Lisa Amundson.
Those members are automatically on the ballot since none of them resigned from the board, which has been busy this school year hiring a new superintendent after Tim Godfrey resigned amid investigations of sexual assault and hazing allegations among teenage boys at the school.
Business Manager Kendra Dockter said Scott Nordick, Ross Pederson and Amy Beito filed the petitions, with "fiscal concerns" listed as the reason for the recall.
Board members serve three-year terms.

Amundson's current term will expire in 2019. She's served since 2013 and currently represents the village of Abercrombie.
Mjoness, who represents portions of Eagle and Walcott townships, was appointed in 2017 to serve the remaining two years of a vacant post. His term also will expire in 2019.
Myers' second term representing the city of Colfax expires in 2020. She's been a board member since 2014.
Candidates must file by May 30 to get on the ballot, but voters could write in a candidate's name on election day, which is slated for Thursday, Aug. 2.
