PEMBINA, N.D. (AP) -- Neither driver was hurt when a semitrailer and a Highway Patrol sport utility vehicle collided on Interstate 29 in northeast North Dakota.
The patrol says the trooper was attempting to pass the semitrailer in blustery, snowy conditions shortly before noon Thursday when the semitrailer slid into it. The semi jackknifed on the highway and went into the ditch, while the trooper's SUV went into the median.
The patrol says both vehicles were traveling south. The semi had just left the Pembina border crossing and was traveling only about 20 mph when the crash occurred.
No citations were immediately issued.
