The North Dakota House has voted down a bill calling for issuance of new vehicle license plates, which would have cost an estimated $5 per vehicle.
Opponents said they're not necessary and there's no public demand.
The measure, Senate Bill 2385, had passed the Senate last month on a 37-10 vote.
