BOWMAN -- Beach moved on to face third-ranked and top-seeded Bowman County on Friday in the District 13 girls basketball tournament

The fourth-seeded Buccaneers held off Hettinger late to take a 61-54 victory in the quarterfinals.

Kjerstin Schillo scored a team-high 16 points while Skye Tescher added 11 points and seven rebounds for Beach.

Three players scored in double figures for the fifth-seeded Black Devils.

Cloe Kilwein had a team-high 15 points while Sally Markegaard added 13 and Jerusha Harkins had 11. Beach outrebounded the Black Devils 40-22.

Wildfire 45, Miners 22

Mott-Regent pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Scranton 17-2 in the final eight minutes of the quarterfinals game.

Heather Mosbrucker scored 12 points and had a game-high 11 rebounds for the Wildfire. Lacey Jacobs added 11 points and four steals. Scranton's Chelsea Pierce scored 10 points.

Eagles 56, Tigers 45

Michelle Kubas scored 18 points as South Heart-Belfield beat New England in the quarterfinals. The Eagles built a 20-point lead in the first half.

"It was us not being able to put four quarters together," New England coach Jason Jung said. "Our kids showed a lot of heart. Being down 20, they neber gave up. We had a good second half and hopefully, that will give us some momentum going into (today)."

Mott-Regent and South Heart-Belfield will play at 7:30 p.m. today.
