24-year-old killed in head-on crash near Mandan

It is believed alcohol was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, according to the Highway Patrol.

MANDAN, N.D. — A 24-year-old woman from Bismarck died in a head-on crash in Morton County on Thursday evening, Jan. 12, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The crash happened about 9:25 p.m. Thursday on North Dakota Highway 1806, about 20 miles south of Mandan.

A northbound car driven by the 24-year-old woman crossed over the center line and collided with a southbound pickup driven by a 69-year-old woman from Bismarck, the patrol said.

The 24-year-old driver of the car was killed, the patrol said.

A passenger in the car, a 49-year-old woman from New Town, was not injured in the crash.

The driver of the pickup was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

It is believed alcohol was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, according to the Highway Patrol.

The names of the motorists involved in the crash have not been released.
