FRUITLAND, Idaho — Idaho police believe Brandon Shurtliff, a 30-year-old man from Idaho with suspected connections to the disappearance of a 5-year-old boy, is in North Dakota.
Shurtliff is wanted for questioning by the City of Fruitland Police Department in Idaho over the abduction of Michael Joseph “Monkey” Vaughan.
Police believe he has firsthand knowledge of the abduction of the now 6-year-old child who disappeared from his Idaho neighborhood on July 27, 2021.
Investigators believe the boy was abducted and is now deceased.

Shurtliff is one of four individuals believed to be involved.

Police are searching for Shurtliff and Adrien Lucienne, a 32-year-old man from Ohio. They believe Lucienne is in either Ohio or California.
Two individuals are already in custody, Sarah and Stacey Wondra. The two lived in a home police believed held the remains of the boy in the backyard.
Vaughan’s remains were ultimately not found, but investigators believe his remains were previously buried on the property and were since moved.
Sarah Wondra, 35, is being held in the Payette County Jail in Idaho for failing to report a death to law enforcement. Stacey Wondra, 30, is currently being held in the Washington County Jail in Idaho on unrelated charges.
