BISMARCK — A central North Dakota man will spend 60 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting children.
U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland sentenced Dwayne Gerard Sr., 63, of Karlsruhe, on Tuesday, Dec. 6, according to a news release. He pleaded guilty to eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, some of which date back to 2015.
Court documents alleged Gerard coerced at least two children to engage in sexually explicit conduct, exploiting one child multiple times.
Hovland called Gerard “a parent’s worst nightmare,” adding this was one of the worst cases he has seen while serving as a federal judge.
