BISMARCK — Three Washington state men face federal charges after a North Dakota State Patrol traffic stop on Interstate 94 yielded what the agency said were 8,000 counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl, six pounds of meth and two Glock pistols.
The patrol stopped the men at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday in a routine traffic stop about 13 miles east of Bismarck in a 2020 Hyundai Kona rental car and a trooper "developed probable cause to believe there were illegal drugs in the vehicle," the agency said in a statement.
A search, the patrol said, led to what they said was about $840,000 of those street drugs. The pills were found inside the spare tire while the pistols were found in the engine compartment, according to the patrol.
Facing five federal charges each are Jeremy Standon, 40 and Jaron Stone, 36, both of Spokane, and Chad Anderson, 44, of Liberty Lake.
The charges are listed as conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances, possession with intent to distribute meth, possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, possession of firearms in drug trafficking crime and aiding and abetting.

In addition Anderson was a federal fugitive, the patrol said.
The Bismarck Metro Area Narcotics Task Force assisted the patrol in investigating the case.
