At 11 a.m. Saturday the National Weather Service in Bismarck issued a blizzard watch for Monday and Tuesday for west and central North Dakota.

Rain and isolated thunderstorms are supposed to hit later this evening, which will change to snow some time on Monday, according to the service.

As rain changes to snow winds of 20-40 mph will develop, creating blowing and drifting snow. Visibility may be near zero at times.

The location of the heaviest snow is uncertain but it appears it may fall over southwestern portions of the state; mainly from Bowman to Dickinson, according to the NWS.
