ALEXANDRIA, Minn.-One person is dead after an officer shot a suspect in downtown Alexandria on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 2.
About 2:15 p.m., law enforcement was called to the 300 block of Irving Street.
According to the Alexandria Police Department, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was conducting an undercover operation involving the solicitation of minors. Supporting agencies included Alexandria police and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
During the operation, two BCA agents discharged their weapons. According to Alexandria police, one person was dead at the scene. No officers were injured.
At the request of the BCA, the St. Paul Police Department will conduct the official investigation of the shooting.
