The Dickinson Parks and Recreation board opened bids for projects in the Patterson Lake area and an irrigation project at their regular meeting Monday.
The irrigation project runs from the Heart River Golf Course to Leisure Park near the community center.
The Bureau of Reclamation has approved the project. Easements have been granted by affected land owners and permits have been submitted to the department of transportation and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
The Patterson Lake projects will be funded in part by the federal government to meet the goal of having handicap-accessible facilities for people with disabilities. The three projects include the installation of a handicap-accessible shower estimated at $100,000, a restroom at Archery Range Park estimated at $25,000, and a handicap-accessible dock on the lake estimated at $20,000.
In other action Monday, the board approved four special-use permits. Pheasants Forever was granted a two-year permit to continue its activities of planting food plots to attract wildlife. The Dickinson Trap Club was granted a four-year permit to practice trap shooting on Patterson Lake.

Two entities will have to relocate due to changes in Bureau of Reclamation standards. The Southwest Lawn Enforcement pistol range was granted a two-year permit. The range is already in the process of relocating.
The Slope Area Golden Eagles, a model airplane club, were also given a two-year permit with the understanding it will have to relocate when the permit expires.
The board also reviewed a proposed joint powers agreement for the renovation of Whitney Stadium. The joints powers also include the Dickinson Public School District, City of Dickinson, Stark County and North Dakota State Board of Higher Education acting for the benefit of Dickinson State University.
