HERMOSA, S.D. -- A former National Park Service employee will spend three years on probation on pay $800 in restitution for stealing firefighting equipment, tools and other items from the agency in the Black Hills.
Tobin Nettifee, 37, was sentenced last Friday by U.S. District Chief Judge Jeff Viken for his conviction on theft of government property.
According to the U.S. attorney’s office, Nettifee stole a chainsaw, firefighting equipment, radios, flight gear, microphones, a power generator and power tools from the park service between June of 2010 and August of 2014.
