MOORHEAD, Minn. -- A pedestrian was struck by a distracted driver in a north Moorhead neighborhood Monday afternoon, police said.
Around 1:50 p.m., Monday, May 30, a male driver was headed north on 18 ½ Street North, near the intersection of 12th Avenue North when he was looking up directions on his cell phone, police said.
The driver jumped a curb and struck a male pedestrian sitting nearby before hitting a tree.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The driver was to be cited for distracted driving.
