ALEXANDER -- A 45-year-old woman from Phoenix was killed in an alcohol-related accident Saturday morning on a rural McKenzie County gravel road east of Alexander, the North Dakota Highway Patrol reported.
The woman was driving with three passengers in a 2000 Ford F-150 pickup traveling east on McKenzie County Road 20 about 3 miles of Alexander at about 1:20 a.m. when she lost control on the road, which had pot holes and a washboard surface filled with rain water, and spun into the south ditch where it rolled over.
The pickup came to a rest in a field on the south side of the road. The driver was killed as a result of the crash.
One of the three injured occupants refused medical attention while two others, a 54-year-old female from Stephenson, Mich., and a 44-year-old male from Phoenix, were taken to a Williston hospital by ambulance.
