PIERRE, S.D. -- Jayson Herra drove in the championship game-winning runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for Pierre Post 8 on Sunday afternoon.

Herra's two-run double capped a huge comeback and gave Pierre a 7-6 victory over the Dickinson Roughriders' in the title game of the Koester Memorial American Legion baseball tournament at Hyde Stadium.

Herra had two doubles and four RBI.

Dickinson took a 6-0 lead after capping a five-run third inning with Dan Berg's two-run home run to left field.

"It was a tough loss," Dickinson coach Cory Hansen said. "The kids played their tails off. ... The kids are getting a clue how the game should be played. There is no job security in this. You have to perform and want to play hard everyday."

Tyrel Gion started for Dickinson, but was relieved in the fourth inning by Michael Steve, who eventually took the loss.

Brian Drapeaux started for Pierre, but Michael Gardner came in in the fifth and took the win.

In their first game of the afternoon, Berg led the Roughriders to a solid 10-1 victory over Winner, which advanced Dickinson to the championship game.

Berg batted 4-for-4, drove in four runs, had a double and tossed a five-hitter to take the win from the mound.

Tyler Steffan scored three runs and Alex Koppinger had a two-run double.
