BISMARCK (AP) -- Bismarck police say a suspected homemade explosive ended up being something less dangerous but still illegal.
Sgt. Mark Buschena says a man cleaning ditches on Wednesday reported finding a 10-inch piece of pipe with end caps that appeared to be a pipe bomb.
Police closed down the road and called in the bomb squad. Once officers determined the device was safe they investigated and found the pipe wasn't a bomb, but a container for about half a pound of marijuana.
