A Plymouth man was arrested after an alleged assault on members of the Russian National Ballet Theater at a downtown Minneapolis hotel.
The man allegedly threw punches and slapped people, injuring two men and a ballerina from the troupe, in town to perform "Sleeping Beauty" at Northrop Auditorium.
The 28-year-old man also allegedly hit a black security guard and made what a police spokesman calls "some racially based statements."
The police report says five people were hurt.
Sgt. William Palmer says when a group of about 20 people, including dancers with the Russian troupe, entered the Doubletree Guest Suites early Sunday, the man made statements that "led them to believe he was upset because they were speaking Russian and not English."

The Plymouth man was accompanied by a 27-year-old Loretto man. Both were arrested.
A representative with the Russian troupe says the dancers were fine and en route to a new engagement.
