Police were notified Monday afternoon of a check fraud valued at a total of around $5,900 involving a local business. The business submitted a physical check to a bank in South Dakota through a picture via a device, the former of which was then somehow taken and cashed at a bank in Washington through unknown means. The South Dakota bank has already remedied the one in Washington. Sgt. Dave Wallace of the Dickinson Police Department said this is the first of such a scam that the department has come across.
- A burglary of a storage shed in Dickinson was reported Monday afternoon, with about $150 worth of property taken. There are no suspects.
- An individual on the 20 block of Seventh Street East notified police Monday afternoon that he believed some of his mail had been stolen.
- A 33-year-old Dickinson man was arrested for possession of marijuana at the corner of Alder Avenue and Custer Street around 10:50 p.m. Monday.
- An individual was transported to CHI St. Joseph’s Health after he notified police for help around 2 a.m. Tuesday from the 200 block of Fifth Street West while he was high on methamphetamine.
