GRAND FORKS -- A Grand Forks man faces multiple child pornography charges after investigators say they found images on his cellphone depicting sexuals acts with victims as young as six months old.
Jeffrey Alan Nord Jr., 28, was charged Friday in Grand Forks District Court with eight counts of possession of certain prohibited materials, all Class C felonies with a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine for each charge.
Nord was arrested Wednesday by the Grand Forks Sheriff’s Office when police collected three cellphones from his home, according to court documents.
Lt. B.J. Maxson said between 24,000 and 29,000 images were found on the cellphones, “but they’re not all related to the child pornography.” Investigators are still going through the images, he said. The images include victims ages six months to 10 years old performing sexual acts with other minors or with adults, according to court documents.
The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating whether Nord took some of the photos and if he knew some of the victims in the images, Maxson said.
