MINOT -- A 24-year-old Minot woman who had two children in her vehicle was arrested Sunday about 4 a.m. for DUI and other charges when police said they found a vehicle had struck a house, fire hydrant and fence in southeast Minot.
Witnesses to the crash stated the woman tried to drive her vehicle from the scene, but they intervened and kept her from leaving, police said.
The driver, Bionca Lewis, was arrested at the scene and charged with DUI-refusal of a chemical test with minor present, reckless driving, child neglect and failure to give immediate notice of accident.
The two children in the vehicle, ages 2 and 5, were transported to Trinity Hospital by ambulance for evaluations, but did not suffer serious injuries, police said.
