PALERMO (AP) -- The U.S. Postal Service has suspended service at the post office in the northwest North Dakota town of Palermo.
The Postal Service says it can't find a qualified replacement for the retired postmaster.
Spokesman Pete Nowacki tells the Minot Daily News that no decision has been made on whether to permanently close the post office in the town of fewer than 100 people. They'll be served for now by rural delivery or can open a box at the Stanley post office.
Palermo Mayor Walt Dunham says many residents aren't happy about the change.
