Members of the North Dakota National Association of Postmasters of the United States gather in Dickinson this week for their 71st annual convention.
"It's the one time of the year when we can all get together and network with our fellow postmasters and find out what's working well in their office and what isn't," ND NAPUS secretary-treasurer and Cando postmaster Sharlene McGregor said.
The conference kicked off Tuesday morning with an opening session and educational sessions in the afternoon.
"With the recent rate change, we discuss issues on that as well as other various issues facing us a postmasters, like various office duties, staffing issues and sessions about retirement planning or financial planning," McGregor said.
"One of our special guests this year is Ken Engstrom," McGregor said. "He is our national executive director based in Washington, D.C."

Between the networking and the training sessions, business meetings are also held.
"We also do the NAPUS organizational elections of officers and any changes in our constitution, our policies," ND NAPUS president and Williston postmaster Leonard Haugsdael said.
The conference agenda also provides time for delegates to take in some of the sights western North Dakota has to offer.
"On the lighter side, we're trying to enjoy some of the entertainment and attraction of the western area," McGregor said. "We are going to Medora (Wednesday night) and we attempted to have a picnic the night before, but it got rained out."
Tonight, the convention holds its banquet featuring awards and scholarship presentations.
The convention adjourns tomorrow after further training sessions and business meetings.
