NIAGARA FALLS, Ontario (AP) -- Niagara Falls Park Police say a person has survived after going over the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side.
Radio station WBEN-AM says police reported that the person survived the 180-feet plunge. The Buffalo News says rescuers were in the Niagara River below the falls on Wednesday afternoon.
No other details were available.
Former auto parts salesman Kirk Jones of Michigan was the last person known to survive a plunge over the falls in October 2003.
Jones said he had been depressed and had been drinking when he went over the famous falls.

At least 17 people -- not including suicide attempts -- are known to have gone over the falls.
