The funeral services for the Rev. Rick Stevens, 53, Dickinson, are at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at Evangelical Bible Church, Dickinson, with the Rev. Tim Privratsky officiating.
Burial is at a later date.
The Rev. Stevens passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at Stevenson Funeral Home. Visitation continues from 5-9 p.m. at the Evangelical Bible Church, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Saturday visitation is from 9 a.m. until one hour prior to service at the church.

Rick I. Stevens was born on Nov. 3, 1953, to Shirley Stevens in Seattle, Wash. As a young child, he moved with his mother and stepfather to Juneau, Alaska, where he attended junior and senior high school.
He then moved to New Orleans, where he enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Following his discharge, Rick returned to Juneau, where he was married to Sherill Hodges on May 27, 1977. They both worked at the Juneau Children's Home until 1978, at which time he was called into God's ministry.
They moved to Springfield, Mo., where he attended Evangel College and received his bachelor of arts degree in biblical studies in 1982.
The family moved back to Juneau, where he worked as director of biblical studies at the Juneau Christian School.
Rick was called to Ft. Worth, Texas. where he pursued his master of divinity degree at Southwestern Theological Seminary. Rick accepted a youth pastor position in Dallas at Southside Assembly until 1986, when he took a senior pastor's position at Lyons Assembly of God Church in Lyons, Neb.
In 1989, Rick became the director of The Salvation Army Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center in Boise, Idaho, for six years.
Rick and the family moved to Sacramento and Auborn, Calif., were he served as the minister and social service director for the Salvation Army.

In 2000, he was called and accepted the senior pastor position for the Evangelical Bible Church, Dickinson, were he has ministered until failing health.
Rick enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. He also enjoyed taking care of the yard and kept it in immaculate condition.
Rick had a great ability for reaching out and helping people struggling with their drug and alcohol addiction. The children of Evangelical Bible held a special spot in Rick's heart and he always cherished their love and acts of kindness. He enjoyed making people laugh.
Another trait of Rick's was the ability to select the perfect Christmas gift for his family, always coming up with the just the right thing. Rick's most precious love was for his wife, Sherill, and his three girls, and now his grandson, Elijah
He is survived by his wife, Sherill, Dickinson; three daughters, Jessica (Joshua) Sneed, Seaside, Calif., Jacqueline Stevens, Minneapolis, and Erika Stevens, Dickinson; one grandson, Elijah Sneed; his mother, Shirley Stevens, Sturgis, Mich.; his step-parents, Doug and Virginia Stevens, New Orleans; and one sister, Mary Dowd, Seattle.
