North Dakota residents had a great time at the the seventh annual Roughriders Spring Outdoor Fun Shoot, on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14. While Saturday had a blazing heat and strong winds, the Sunday carried a nice, soft breeze and allowed for more participants to enjoy the festivities.
“It went good,” Loren Adams, one of the organizers of the event, said. “The outdoor course is kinda like a golf course, people go out and shoot in groups, usually family members or close friends that came together … but there was social distancing.”
Adams stated that although this is only the seventh year of the event, the number of participants are continuing to increase very rapidly throughout the years.
“We’re getting a better turnout every year,” Adams said. “The first year we had about 25 or 30 shooters, this year we were over 100, the numbers are getting very good.”
Adams stated while the organization has three events throughout the year, one in March, the outdoor in June, and the third and final being located near Medora in August. However, due to COVID-19 the March event was cancelled, but participants were able to come back and enjoy it in June.
