Dickinson Rural Fire Department responded to two grass fires along railroad tracks southwest of town Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Multiple vehicles responded to the fires between 113th and 115th Avenues Southwest near the Bakken Oil Express rail terminal at about 2:50 p.m. Chief Andy Paulson said the fires were out in about 10 minutes. There was no danger with that facility.
“We’re still checking in to find out exactly what did cause the fires,” he said.
Because of the muddy roads, only the department’s Polaris Ranger, with a 100-gallon water tank, could get in to fight the fires, he said.
