MANDAN -- For the first time this season, someone had Jacob Wheeling's number.

New Salem senior Garrett Schultz sank a putt for par on the final hole at Prairie West Golf Course and Wheeling missed a birdie putt that would have forced a playoff at the Standing Rock Invitational on Thursday.

Schultz finished with the medalist score of 73. Wheeling carded a 74.

Sophomore Chad Marshall's 75 led Hazen to a team win. They shot a 319 to edge Beulah and Killdeer by six strokes. Trinity finished sixth. Senior Brett Lefor led the Titans with an 84.

"I guess it's just one of those tournaments you've got to forget about and then move on," Trinity coach Todd Fisher said.

Senior Casey Olheiser, who had led the Titans in their first three tournaments this season, finished with a 94.

"We've got a lot of improvements to make," Olheiser said. "We've got a lot of work to do. We all struggled today."

Glen Ullin-Hebron got the best of the Titans as well, shooting a 353.
