A sentencing hearing has been set for Oct. 10 in the negligent homicide case against Julie C. Rogers, Wibaux, Mont.

Rogers, 47, originally entered a not guilty plea, but during a pre-trial hearing she pleaded guilty by an Alford plea, which means she maintains her innocence but acknowledges there is enough evidence to convict her.

Rogers changed her plea on May 29.

Rogers is accused of negligently operating a vehicle on or around June 15 that led to the death of Tamela Ann Curtis, 47, Wibaux.

Dr. Kenneth H. Mueller, a forensic medical examiner in Billings, Mont., said in autopsy reports that Curtis died fairly quickly from blunt force injuries after being struck by a moving vehicle.

According to court documents, trace evidence was found on the underside of Rogers' car that appeared to match articles of clothing on Curtis' body.

The hearing is set for 1:15 p.m. on Oct. 10 at the Wibaux County Courthouse.
