FARGO -- Depth helped Fargo Shanley pick up a victory over Dickinson High in a five-match format boys tennis dual on Friday.
While Dickinson scored victories at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, the Deacons controlled doubles and picked up a big win at No. 3 singles to seal a 3-2 victory.
"They have a good program and good numbers," Dickinson co-coach Carter Fong said. "They're experienced and they're deep."
Taylor Bruhschwein beat Rodrigo Otero, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Luke Van Ells beat Luke Deikman, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 at No. 2 singles.
"Taylor has played great tennis for two weeks now. He's kind of on a roll," Fong said. "Luke is just mentally tough, won the tiebreaker and carried it into the second set."
