Shirley Hilgendorf, 71, Cottage Grove, Ore., passed away on May 5, 2008, of congestive heart failure.

She was born on Oct. 6, 1936, in Dickinson to Martin and Christina (Samek) Haag.

Shirley married John Hilgendorf on July 12, 1957, in Fort Lawton, Wash.

Shirley enjoyed caring, cooking and loving all her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Steve (Leslie) Hilgendorf, Seattle, Ron (Wendi) Hilgendorf, Cottage Grove, Gary Hilgendorf, Cottage Grove; daughter, Debbie (James Jones) Prechtel, Eugene, Ore.; brothers, Raymond (Teri) Haag, Libby, Mont., Dave (Arliene) Haag, Eugene; sister, Kathy (Hank) Pankratz, Dickinson; sister-in-law, Elsie Haag, Dickinson; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hilgendorf; and brother, Dick Haag.

A private family service is planned.
