Shooting suspects arrested after 45-minute chase

GRANITE FALLS, Minn. -- Two suspects in a shooting last week near Granite Falls that seriously injured a man were in custody in Yellow Medicine County after a 45-minute chase Tuesday.

GRANITE FALLS, Minn. - Two suspects in a shooting last week near Granite Falls that seriously injured a man were in custody in Yellow Medicine County after a 45-minute chase Tuesday.
A man was found Friday lying on state Highway 23 south of Granite Falls, covered in blood from a gunshot wound, and was taken to a Minneapolis hospital for treatment.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune identified the victim as Daniel L. Scheff, 30, and the suspects as brothers Derek M. Hexum, 19, of Gordon, Ga., and Devin D. Hexum, 21, of Balaton, Minn.
The pursuit ended when a Minnesota State Patrol trooper used a “pursuit intervention technique” to stop the vehicle about a half-mile from the South Dakota line in Lincoln County.
