JC Penney in the Prairie Hills Mall was evacuated at approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday because of a small fire.

The Dickinson Fire Department has not yet determined the cause of the fire.

A representative of the department said a clothes rack on the east side of the store caught on fire, forcing the evacuation.

There were no injuries. However, there was smoke damage.
