South Dakota man in custody in Dickinson on attempted murder warrant

A South Dakota man was arrested by authorities in Golden Valley County over the weekend and remained in custody Monday at the Southwest Multi-County Correction Center on a charge of attempted murder.

A South Dakota man was arrested by authorities in Golden Valley County over the weekend and remained in custody Monday at the Southwest Multi-County Correction Center on a charge of attempted murder.

Dion White, 39, a resident of Roberts County in South Dakota, was picked up by the Golden Valley Sheriff’s Office Sunday on an arrest warrant and, as of Monday evening, remained in Dickinson while he awaits extradition to South Dakota, according to a jail official.

White made an appearance before Southwest District Judge Dann Greenwood in an extradition hearing Monday in Dickinson.

White, who was in possession of a Lake Traverse Indian Reservation identification card at the time of his arrest, is accused of attempting to kill someone in Sisseton, S.D., a city on the Lake Traverse Indian Reservation, according to a report from WDAY-TV in Fargo.
