Parts of southwest North Dakota could receive up to half of foot of snow by Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Adams, Billings, Bowman, Golden Valley, Hettinger, Slope and Stark counties.

Patrick Ayd of the National Weather Service in Bismarck said forecasters are expecting Dickinson and areas closer to Interstate 94 to receive 2-4 inches of snow with with areas closer to the South Dakota border to receive as much as 6 inches.

Lesser snowfall is predicted as far north as Watford City and east to Beulah and Bismarck.

Hazardous travel conditions could arise as 30 mph winds gusts are predicted.
