FORT YATES, N.D. (AP) -- Standing Rock Sioux Chairman Charles Murphy remains the tribe's leader after a seven-hour Tribal Council hearing on allegations that he acted improperly in making various personnel moves.
The council on Wednesday voted down three allegations after the hearing in which Murphy presented witnesses. Murphy earlier had removed his executive director under pressure from the council.
