BISMARCK — State Radio dispatchers were notified this morning about Verizon Wireless customers experiencing connectivity issues when attempting to reach 911 in various areas throughout western North Dakota. North Dakota Strategic Communication Chief Eric Jensen explained this in a press release Monday. Some callers have reported calls being dropped or being notified that all circuits are busy.

Cell phone users are encouraged to continue using 911, but if they continue to get a busy signal they should use the State Radio administrative line at 701-328-9921.

Further updates will be provided once 9-1-1 connectivity has been fully resolved. This has not delayed dispatching emergency first responders upon receiving requisite information from callers, it's simply an issue of connecting callers with dispatchers.
