Statewide food bank moves fundraiser from fall to spring

FARGO -- The Great Plains Food Bank, a program of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota, has moved one of its signature events to this spring, instead of fall.

The Chefs’ Gala & Auction is marking its 18th year as an event that raises money for the programs and services of the food bank. This event raises more than $75,000 annually.

he Chefs’ Gala & Auction will be 5:30-8:30 p.m., on Tuesday, March 29, at the Ramada Plaza & Suites in Fargo. It features area chefs serving their signature dishes, a silent auction, and a “wine pull.”

The Great Plains Food Bank serves as North Dakota’s only food bank. Its partner network includes 321 food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and other charitable feeding programs operating in 113 communities across North Dakota. and Clay County, Minn. Since 1983 the food bank and its partners have distributed food for more than 107 million meals to children, seniors, and families in need.
