BISMARCK -- The National Rifle Association has endorsed Wayne Stenehjem in the North Dakota gubernatorial race.

The NRA's Political Victory Fund gave the attorney general an A+ and marked Stenehjem as NRA endorsed, his campaign announced Thursday in an email. Stenehjem is the only candidate in any North Dakota race to receive the organization's approval.

Stenehjem will face Fargo businessman Doug Burgum and oilfield consultant Paul Sorum in the Republican primary June 14. The NRA had not graded Burgum or Sorum as of Thursday.
