Suspect denied bond for Grand Forks murder

GRAND FORKS - One of two defendants in a Grand Forks man’s shooting death was denied bond Wednesday.
Delvin Lamont “Squeaky” Shaw, 29, of Winston-Salem, N.C., is accused of killing Jose Luis “Joe” Lopez, 24, after breaking into his apartment. Shaw is charged with murder, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison, and burglary.
Shaw was denied bond Wednesday because of the seriousness of the charges, the risk of flight and his prior criminal record. Shaw also has several felony convictions.
